OUR COMMITMENT
At Causeway Hotels, we want to give every guest that stays with us the peace of mind to know their health and wellbeing is our very top priority and know that Causeway Cares.
We take standards for hygiene very seriously and are taking additional steps to ensure the safety of our team members and guests.
CAUSEWAY CARES
In collaboration with the Australian Department of Health, Victorian State Government Health Directives and Accommodation Industry Guidelines, our processes are continually evolving to ensure the utmost safety for our guests and our team, whilst retaining the warm and genuine service levels you have come to know and recognize us for. As we continue to bring our unique location amongst the heart of Melbourne’s eclectic laneways to life, we do so with safety and your wellbeing at our core.
OUR TEAM
All Causeway team members, from Room Attendants to Guest Services Agents, to the Executive team have undertaken additional training in cleaning and infection control to learn best practices for maintaining a safe and healthy hotel environment.
Our team members all wear PPE. Guest Service Agents are all smiles behind their masks, with partitions at the front desk providing an extra level of precaution. Our Room Attendants wear masks and gloves while cleaning guest rooms; even the Maintenance team wear masks and gloves, with sanitiser added to their toolboxes.
GUEST ROOMS
On top of our regular rigorous cleaning processes, additional disinfecting protocols have been implemented in our guest rooms, after a guest departs and before the next arrives, with particular attention paid to hard and high touch surfaces and reduction of furnishings.
Our Room Attendants use specially formulated products from EcoLab, focussing on all bathroom surfaces, including tiles, taps, toilets and vanity, moving onto guest room surfaces, including bedside tables, desks, chairs, lamps, switches, remotes, door handles, in-room safe and mini bar. Strict laundering and sanitising procedures are in place for linens and towels.
Guest rooms are thoroughly inspected and triple checked to ensure our exacting standards have been met, before being rested for 24 hours prior to the next check-in
PUBLIC AREAS
We have reconfigured common spaces, rearranged and removed furniture, and installed signage to assist with social distancing. Hand sanitiser stations have been set up throughout the hotel including the Reception desk and lift lobbies. High touch surfaces are regularly disinfected, including the Reception desk, lift buttons, door handles and rooms keys - to name a few.
RECEPTION
Wherever possible, as much information as possible is being collected before check-in, to reduce your time at the desk. During check-in, contactless temperature checks and health declarations are now standard.
We have also set up Express check-out with contactless key drops, and follow up contact by our team emailing guests documentation after their stay.
Clear partitions have been installed at the Reception desk for added protection during check-in and check-out.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Density limits are in place for all staff areas to maintain social distancing in our back of house. Our team are frequently sanitising high touch surfaces throughout the day, such as desks, keyboards, phones, EFTPOS machines and keys. Sanitiser stations are set up in all areas throughout the hotel.
Back of house areas are benefiting from the increased frequency of cleaning and disinfecting, with particular focus on high touch areas, including entrances, lockers, storage rooms and offices.
Before working, our team members undergo a temperature and health check, to ensure they are fit to work.
All team members have attended, completed and been certified by the Australian Department of Health in Infection Control Training for COVID-19.
Causeway Hotels did not participate in any quarantine or return traveller programs and has remained outbreak free.
OUR VACCINE AND COVID-19 POLICY
Keeping our guests and staff safe is our top priority, which is why Causeway Hotels is requiring all guests 12 years and above to be fully vaccinated before they are permitted to enter our hotel.
If a guest is Covid-19 positive and/or required to isolate as a close contact under government Covid-19 guidelines, they will be required to leave the hotel and relocate to alternative accommodation immediately.
Please be ready to show evidence of your vaccination status (and the vaccination status of all accompanying guests) upon arrival and when checking in. The Service Victoria App may be used as proof of vaccination. You can find more information by visiting https://service.vic.gov.au
It is currently not possible to stay at this hotel for coronavirus (COVID-19) quarantine or isolation purposes.
OUR CANCELLATION POLICY
In response to changing conditions, Causeway Hotels is committed to ensuring our guest experience flexibility during these challenging times.
All fully flexible guest reservations will be allowed to cancel with no cancellation fee, change dates or receive a credit or full refund for any pre-purchased accommodation if Government COVID-19 policies or mandated lockdowns prevent guests from travelling to the Hotel on the intended dates.
For all other fully flexible guest reservations, cancel up to 4pm on day of arrival with no cancellation fee. After 4pm on day of arrival, a cancellation fee of the first night’s package price will be charged.
